The Świdnica organ was built from 1777 to 1784 by Peter Zeitzius, substituting an old organ built from 1666 to 1669 by Gottfried Klose. The case was also designed by Peter Zeitzius.

In 1802 the organ suffers changes during the intervention by Johann Lieser, according to the principles of Simplifikationssystem advocated by Vogler. This involved the removal of several stops in order to keep just the minimum essential timbres and pitches, without repetition across manuals. The organ stood, after this intervention, with 45 registers.

From 1880 to 1882 the organ was rebuilt by Heinrich Schlag, keeping 9 old registers, and from 1909 to 1912 the instrument was again reconstructed by Schlag & Söhne, using pneumatic action and cone chest valves. The organ has currently 60 stops distributed across three manuals and pedal.
